We currently rely on salespeople to contact customers one-on-one. We want to transform into a more digitalized omnichannel model. Where should we realistically start?

Omnichannel doesn't mean replacing salespeople—it means giving customers the ability to find information, send inquiries, and confirm orders on their own without waiting for a salesperson to respond every time. A practical starting point is to identify "what your salespeople are most frequently asked repeatedly." If customers often ask about inventory, pricing, or delivery times, prioritize making that information available online. If customers frequently need to confirm order details, set up an online entry point for order confirmation. Transformation doesn't need to happen all at once. Start by digitizing one process area, make sure it works smoothly, then expand. At the same time, ensure online information matches what your salespeople are saying—inconsistent information will erode customer trust. The goal of omnichannel is to deliver the same quality of experience at every touchpoint, not to create multiple channels that operate independently.
