Fasteners—bolts, nuts, screws (tariff code 7318) are fully controlled and represent the largest category of Taiwan's steel exports to Europe. Aluminum profiles, aluminum tubes, aluminum plates—aluminum materials and semi-finished products like 7604, 7606, 7608 are on the list. Steel tubes, steel structures, steel containers—7304–7311 are controlled. Metal hardware, stamped parts, castings and forgings—items falling under 7326 "Other steel articles" or 7616 "Other aluminum articles" are included; the 2028 expansion proposal adds 7325 cast iron articles, 7320 springs, and 7317 nails. Automotive parts, metal furniture, motors, electrical wires—not currently controlled, but the 2028 expansion proposal specifically mentions 8708 transmissions, wheels, and suspensions, as well as 9403 metal furniture, 8501 motors, and 8544 electrical wires. Bicycle parts, hand tools, machinery—neither the current list nor the 2028 expansion proposal includes 8712, 8714, or Chapter 82—but the steel and aluminum they use are already controlled. The scope of control expands with each round.
