We're already using ERP. Do we still need a separate foreign trade system?

ERP primarily handles the "internal" side of your business: inventory, production, finance, and costs. It's designed to make internal operations traceable, not to make it convenient for buyers to interact with you. The pain points in foreign trade usually lie on the "external" side: how buyers reach you, how quotations are presented, how orders are confirmed, how shipping documents are generated. These involve different user groups and data structures than what most ERPs handle. If your current situation is sending quotations via Excel, confirming orders through Email, and manually assembling shipping documents, then adding a dedicated system outside your ERP to handle this buyer-facing segment is more practical than replacing the entire ERP. Each system serves its purpose—they can sync necessary shared data through API without duplicate entry.
