Client concentration is one of the most common risks for Taiwan's small and medium manufacturers. Entering new markets doesn't have to happen all at once—start with "small-scale testing." Pick a few willing partners from your existing overseas clients or cooperative distributors, design two or three product variations (such as different specifications or price points), and run one cycle in a representative market. The key is to keep records of every order and customer feedback; don't rely solely on what your sales staff remember. During the testing phase, change only one variable at a time so results are clear. After completion, use actual data to decide whether to scale up, adjust, or abandon—not gut instinct. This risk-spreading approach is slower, but it won't leave you vulnerable to a major loss from betting wrong on a market.
