Our quotations keep getting pushed down by clients. How can we use market testing to identify a reasonable pricing range?

Price pressure usually stems from two causes: clients are genuinely comparing prices, or you don't fully understand the price elasticity of your market. Market testing directly answers the second question. The approach is to design three price tiers—high, mid, and low—and test how each is accepted in different markets or by different customer types. During testing, record order conversion rates, customer feedback content, and cancellation reasons, not just final transaction numbers. After several rounds, you'll know which markets will pay higher prices for better specifications and which only care about low cost. Armed with this data, you can quote with more confidence—offer basic models to price-sensitive clients, proactively present upgraded specifications and higher prices to quality-focused clients, rather than using one price for everyone and watching it get negotiated down.
