When selling the same product to different types of distributors, importers, and retailers in different countries, how do you manage pricing so it doesn't get messy?

The core approach is to separate "who can see what price" from "who can place orders under what conditions" rather than using a single unified quotation for everyone. For each customer type (for example, importers, distributors, direct retailers), set up separate price tiers and minimum order quantities. This way, when customers log in, they only see the conditions applicable to their tier, naturally preventing situations where distributors see retail prices or large customers see small customer discounts. This method solves two problems at once: first, price control—it becomes harder for distributors to disclose your factory price externally; second, tiered negotiation—you can offer better terms to large customers without publicly discounting for everyone. One important note: design the tiering structure before the product goes public. It's usually much harder to retract quotation terms that have already been sent out.
