The complexity of ERP integration varies significantly, depending on several dimensions:
First, data scope: do you want to sync customer data, product master data, orders, or all three? The larger the scope, the higher the implementation effort.
Second, sync direction: is data pushed from ERP to Patisco, or is it bidirectional? Bidirectional sync requires conflict resolution logic (which system wins if both sides edit the same record simultaneously), which significantly increases complexity.
Third, ERP openness: some ERPs have comprehensive API documentation, making integration relatively straightforward; others require middleware or direct database connections, introducing higher uncertainty in effort estimation.
Fourth, data quality: if master data in the ERP is already messy (duplicate SKUs, inconsistent formatting), you'll need to clean it before integration, otherwise the synced data will be dirty too.
Before evaluating integration, we recommend first determining "which data absolutely must sync and which can be manually maintained," narrowing the scope so the assessment is meaningful. This kind of integration falls under customization and requires evaluating effort and cost based on the actual environment.
