My product's HS code is not on the EU regulations list. Do I need to worry?

It doesn't apply now, but that doesn't mean it won't later. Take CBAM as an example: when the law was passed in 2023, it only covered steel, aluminum and a few products. In December 2025, a proposal wants to add about 180 downstream products (nails, springs, car wheel rims, metal furniture, motors, electrical wiring), expected to take effect in 2028. The European Parliament is pushing for 277 items instead. This type of measure follows a pattern similar to anti-dumping tariffs — it starts with a small group and gradually expands across the entire industry. If your product's main materials are steel, aluminum, natural rubber, or wood, we recommend starting to keep production records and source documentation now.
